The LAGCOE Career Fair will take place as part of LAGCOE 2015. Job seekers are encouraged to register online in advance for faster entry. LAGCOE 2015, which runs Oct. 27-29, is open only to industry personnel, and the LAGCOE Career Fair is open only to jobseekers who register online or onsite.
In addition to networking, the career fair will provide an opportunity for resume reviews and professional headshots at no cost to the jobseeker as well as several career-development opportunities for jobseeker success, including four dynamic speakers, to be held at various times throughout the day. The day’s career development presentations will begin at 9:15 a.m. with "Mission Vets - A special presentation for Veterans seeking jobs,” presented by Rachael Sudul. Sudul is responsible for Public Relations for the American Legion Post 69. Along with her partner, Membership Chair, Nicole Lopez, they discovered Mission Vets and their "Mission” to help place Veterans into certification programs that will lead our brave men and women into solid careers in many different industries.
Danielle M. Dayries will present, "Resume Workshop: Can Your Resume Pass the 10 Second Test.” Dayries is the owner of DMD & Associates, Inc. Career Consulting, Resume Writing & Outplacement Firm. Dayries is a speaker whose purpose is to motivate, excite and enable individuals to find out how to identify and pursue a career that is fulfilling and financially rewarding.
Jason Lopez, will present "The 5 steps to Supercharging and Building your Oil and Gas Career.” Lopez has been partnering with business owners & CEOs for more than 15 years. He is the author of Bottom Line Blueprints for your Business- tips, techniques and strategies for growing your business even in the toughest economy and founded Blueprints for Business LLC in 1998.
Laurie J. James will present, "How to Create a Great LinkedIn Presence.” James is a Master Career Director. James co-founded the Professional Résumé Writing and Research Association, PRWRA, which later came to be known as CDI, Career Directors International, to provide a venue where career professionals could access educational, networking and professional development opportunities.
Sue Schleifer, M.A., will present "Staying Motivated During Your Job Search.” Schleifer is the owner of Oak Communications Coaching and Consulting and a Professional Certified Coach. She provides career coaching as well as consulting services to individuals and organizations nationwide. She is a presenter on career and leadership development topics and author of the book, The Key to the Castle.
Amy Chauvin will present, "From Hello to Hired.” Amy Chauvin is currently the Associate Director of Career Services at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As Associate Director, Amy oversees employer relations, the on-campus interviewing program, and manages the website and online job search site. She is a member of several organizations for Career Services professionals and served as the 2014-15 president of the Louisiana Association of Colleges and Employers of which she has been an executive board member for four years.
In addition to these sessions, job seekers will be aided by career development experts who will be professionally reviewing resumes, free of charge at the event. A photographer will also be onsite to take business head shots for LAGCOE Career Fair jobseekers to be used on social networking sites, such as LinkedIn.
