Gloria Knox was a well-known and recognized name in the history of Lagcoe. Knox participated in the founding of Lagcoe. She was the first “Lady landman and the first woman chosen as a Lagcoe Looey. Knox served on the first board of directors and became the entertainment chairman for the first Lagcoe’s show. She earned the title of the “general” because of her hard-driving style and unyielding demand for excellence. The achievements of Gloria Knox are numerous to mention. Her contribution to the petroleum community is greatly recognized to date within and outside the states. She was known for her flair of perfection. Her dependable support to Lagcoe and the oil and gas industry earned her the title of the Lagcoe Looey in 2001. She served as part of Lagcoe executive member for a long time. She made her home in Lafayette until her demise in 2008.
