Future Energy Professionals Scholarships
Junior and Senior students who participate in the Manufacturing Week Tours at Energy companies approved by Lagcoe are eligible to apply for the Lagcoe Future Energy Professionals Scholarship: an award to goal-oriented
students planning to enroll into a Louisiana university or college in pursuit of a STEM-centric Degree. Past scholarship winners have gone
on to study Chemical and Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, as well as the
Oil & Gas Production Program at South Louisiana Community College, Baton Rouge Community College, and Integrated Product Technologies at L.E. Fletcher Technical Community
College. The scholarship is awarded every other year.
To Apply for the scholarship you must:
- Have participated in the Manufacturing Week Tours at Energy Industry companies approved by Lagcoe
- Be a senior or junior in a Louisiana high school
- Plan to pursue a degree in a STEM field at a Louisiana college or university
The application requires:
- Two letters of recommendation from two applicable teachers and/or a professional in the STEM field
- One handwritten essay/personal statement
- Most recent high school transcript (certified and sealed)
Paper applications are not accepted. All eligible students will receive an email from Lagcoe Educational Programs Coordinator with the link and password to apply.
The deadline for the 2024 FEP Scholarship will be January 2024. The next scholarship cycle will begin immediately after the Manufacturing Week Tours.
Note: Scholarship applications open immediately after the Manufacturing Week Tour. Seniors and juniors must apply during the scholarship cycle following the tour they attended. Scholarship recipients will have their award held until they begin college or university.

- Emily Duplechain Barber, Ascension Episcopal High School. Studied Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University. Emily is now an Availability Performance Advisor at Shell.
- David LaCour, St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, LA. David is now a Refining Engineer II at Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
2016
- Drake Bergeron, Comeaux High School. Drake studied Chemical Engineering at UL Lafayette, LA. Drake is now an Assistant Chemical Engineer at Burn & McDonnell.
- Laura Manuel, Sacred Heart School in Ville Platte. Laura studied Mechanical Engineering at UL Lafayette, LA. Laura is now a Graduate Assistant at Tulane's Department of River and Coastal Engineering.
- Cornelius Broussard, Cecilia Sr. High School. Cornelius studied at South Louisiana Community College in LA.
2018
- Parker Cormier, New Iberia Senior High School. Parker studied Integrated Product Technologies at L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College in Schriever, LA. Parker is now a B Operator at Danos.
- Brandon Mitchell, Pine Prairie High School. Brandon studied Oil & Gas Production Technology at South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette, LA.
- Meaghan Thibodeaux, Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. Meaghan studied Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University in
Baton Rouge, LA. Meaghan is now a Physical Therapy Technician at Tri Parish Therapy Group.
- Michael LaCour, St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Michael studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, LA. Michael is now an Operations Leadership Development Engineer at ADM.
2020
- Laelah Credeur, Lafayette Christian Academy. Laelah is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, LA. Laelah is a Technical Services Assistant at Pine Island Chemical Solutions.
- William Duke, University Laboratory School. William is pursuing Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
- Logan Paul, Central Private. Logan pursued Process Technology (PTEC) at Baton Rouge Community College in Baton Rouge, LA.
