Gregory “Greg” W. Stutes is a senior Engineering Advisor for Completion Specialists, Inc. His professional work history spans over 32 years where he has been an owner/partner at CSI for the past 15 years. Raised in Houston with three sisters (whom he is still very close to). In 6th grade, Greg’s family moved to Lafayette where he still resides. Since joining Completion Specialists in 2005, Greg has directly planned and supervised over 50 new completions and workovers onshore and in federal and state waters for CSI’s clients. Stutes served as 2015 LAGCOE treasurer. His 32 years of industry experience began at Conoco in 1988 after graduating from UL and includes engineering and management positions at Drilling Services of America, Halliburton and Chevron.
Greg has been blessed with over 32 years of marriage. Like most career oil and gas professionals, Greg spent considerable time away from his supportive loving wife and can count on the one hand the number of vacations that did not involve work. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Greg has been fortunate to always call Lafayette home.
Stutes is a member of AADE, SPWLA, API, IADC, ICoTA, LGS and SPE, having held the office of chairman for SPE Evangeline Section in 2004-2005 and committee member for SPE International Symposium and Exhibition on Formation Damage Control since 2000. He has served LAGCOE for 10 years in Registration and Technical Presentations Committees, most recently as chairman of the Technical Presentations Committee. Stutes has been on the LAGCOE board since 2010 and the Executive Committee since 2012. He recently served as chairman of LAGCOE during 2018-2019.
